At the 1969 NCAA indoor track and field meet, Kansas, Villanova, and San Jose State took
the first three spots followed by Tennessee and Southern California who tied for fourth place.
Place winners for the Vols were as follows:
440 Yard Dash – (5) Hardee McAlhaney
600 Yard Run – (2) Audry Hardy, 1:10.1 (All-American)
880 Yard Run – (5) Larry Kelly
Triple Jump – (3) Jeff Gabel, 50’-10¼”) (All-American)
